CEDIA ANNOUNCES SHORTLIST FOR 2010 AWARDS

12th March, 2010

The shortlist for the CEDIA Awards 2010, held in association with AWE Europe, KEF Audio UK, Philips Pronto and Sonos has been announced and, as always, it brings together some of the best examples of home electronic systems integration in the industry.

From penthouses in St. Pancras to 19th century Belgium castles, and everything in between; this year’s shortlist celebrates the true depth of design and installation talent in the residential custom installation sector, from across CEDIA Region 1.

The shortlist for the CEDIA Awards 2010 is a showcase of technical expertise, design creativity and professional installation.” CEDIA Chairman and Chair of Judges, Robert Hallam explains. “With competition high, all entries were judged against a stringent set of Best Practice guidelines and technical criteria; those in the final should be duly proud of their achievement. We are also delighted that, with representation from no fewer than eight countries, the CEDIA Awards shortlist continues to reflect the true international spread of our membership. All in all we are looking forward to an exceptional night.”

A prestigious line-up of individuals will now preside over the final judging process. Judging with Robert Hallam will be Dave Mitchell from the Home Builders Federation (HBF), the assistant editor of idFX Magazine Rebecca Hoh; RIBA Journal Assistant Editor Jan Carlos Kucharek; President of the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID), Iris Dunbar; Steve May, Editor of Home Cinema Choice Magazine and industry journalist Chris Price.

The winners of the CEDIA Awards 2010 will be announced on Friday 16th April, during a ceremony at the UnderGlobe, on London’s Bankside. Former Tomorrow’s World presenter, Philippa Forrester will be on hand to give out the awards, at an event which promises to be a truly dramatic affair. Tickets for the black tie evening, which includes a sit down dinner and entertainment, are priced at £99 per person, or £895 for a table of ten, excluding VAT. Tickets can be purchased online at www.cedia.co.uk/awards
