Location: CEDIA Training Centre, St Neots

New to the industry? Acquire the vital knowledge and skills necessary to get started in the residential electronic systems industry with CEDIA’s Boot Camp. This comprehensive five-day session is delivered by CEDIA Certified Instructors, and includes both classroom instruction and hands-on training.

The course will provide attendees with the skills required to build a foundation for a successful career as a technician, designer, or even business owner within the home technology industry.

As a business owner, this is the ideal first course for new employees. The courses will provide the knowledge and skillset required to be a useful member of the installation team from day one. The course will also teach the engineering and technical foundations necessary for an individual to go on to CEDIAŹ¼s five-day technical school, and the ESC-T certification exam.

The course is split into five days as follows:

Day 1 – Health & Safety

CEDIA is now an accredited ECS (Electrotechnical Certification Scheme) Health and Safety assessment centre, and this one-day course is designed to help attendees understand the necessary site competency skills needed within the industry.

Day 2 - Essential Technical and Personal Skills for Installers

Ideal for new installation technicians, this course will provide attendees with the essential training in the typical maths, science and electronics installers will have to utilise within the home technology industry.

Day 3 - Cables, Connectivity and Structured Wiring Workshop

The need for a proper cabling infrastructure is essential in any custom installation project. This workshop will show attendees the various cables and connectors used in integrated residential systems, and demonstrate how to build a future-ready wiring environment.

Day 4 - Audio, Video and RF Systems for Installers

For many installers audio and video represent a large percentage of each project. This course brings together these fascinating topics to deliver the ideal grounding for installers of up-to-date home entertainment.
