CEDIA® is pleased to announce that its latest CPD, ‘Smart Home Cabling Requirements for The Modern Home’, has been accredited by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) and the South African Institute of Architects (SAIA).
Due to today’s ever growing digital and connected lifestyles, greater reliance is being placed on the complex cabling infrastructure needed to support home technology. Inspired by CEDIA’s widely distinguished Smart Home Recommended Wiring Guidelines, CEDIA developed its most recent CPD, ‘Smart Home Cabling Requirements for the Modern Home,’ to help educate professionals in installing a secure and future-proof cabling infrastructure for the modern home of today and tomorrow.
Available to specifiers, the CPD has been designed to provide guidance for the installation of the ever growing cabling infrastructure in today’s modern home, including cabling requirements for home cinema, lighting, audio-visual services and security. The CPD identifies the key requirements for wiring a smart home installation and will help professionals understand a number of topics including, the cabling infrastructure needed to support technology in the home, the services and benefits available using cables, and the different grade of cables used for home technology.
“There is a well-known saying within our industry – ‘the most expensive cable to install is the one you forgot the first time round’. This course has been developed to ensure that this cable will never be missed,” explains Wendy Griffiths, Executive Director of CEDIA EMEA. “This course explains how to ensure that the necessary infrastructure is in place to meet the needs of a modern day connected home.”
