With membership at an all-time high, CEDIA is urging companies to renew their annual membership promptly so that they can continue to take advantage of the significant benefits that membership brings.
More than 550 companies now belong to CEDIA in Region 1 which covers the UK, Europe, Russia and the CIS, the Middle East, Africa India and Pakistan. In 2013, membership has risen by 159, as companies across the Region appreciate the wide range and the value of benefits available. The deadline to renew annual membership is 31st January 2014, with full details available in packs delivered by the Association to all CEDIA members during November.
“2013 has been a fantastic year for CEDIA growth,” comments Matt Nimmons, CEDIA’s Operations Director. “We have even more activities and initiatives in the pipeline for 2014, kicking off with an extensive programme of discounted education at Integrated Systems Europe (4-6 February 2014) in Amsterdam. There will also be more training resources and events throughout the Region, alongside business-building marketing schemes, such as, the CEDIA Awards to help member companies grow. That’s why it’s important that existing members renew in timely fashion and ensure that they can take full advantage of everything on offer as quickly and cost-effectively as possible.”
CEDIA offers a vast range of added-value benefits to members. In 2013, the Association introduced its Recommended Wiring Guidelines document for the industry which has been downloaded over 2000 times and is now translated into three different languages. Other education initiatives include a growing number of Best Practice white papers, dedicated education events in France, Italy, South Africa and India, and training platforms at an increasing number of consumer, architectural and interior design exhibitions. Meanwhile, the CEDIA Awards, open only to CEDIA members, celebrates design and installation excellence across the industry and this year generated more entries from more countries than ever before.
“We decided to join CEDIA earlier this year to benefit from the educational content which we felt would enhance our engineer development programmes,” says Paul Clarke, Director of Living Home Tech.“We are also taking advantage of CEDIA’s commitment to professional and consumer education via their trade shows, presentations and marketing materials.”
"Besides the in depth training and development opportunities, being a CEDIA member introduces one to a larger community of like-minded individuals where it’s easy to ask for advice, have open discussions and continually learn about new endeavours. This gives us incredible insight into what is continually happening around us and we can use this information to tailor our business to be more effective,” adds Christian Beukkes from Sphere Custom Design in South Africa.
According to Stuart Burgess, Managing Director of Just Add Popcorn, “The literature CEDIA produces is outstanding.”
“The CEDIA Awards provides us with a great opportunity to impress new and existing customers,” comments Tony Harper of T&T Automation. “We were contacted by a tech savvy client purely off the back of us winning a CEDIA Award. They were so keen for us to do the job that it did not go out to tender. Many years later, we still work for this client, who has now spent well over 7 figures with us.”
