TCP/IP has become the dominant communications and media transmission protocol for the home technology industry. It is essential to understand both the theory and practice of IP in order to design and implement reliably. In addition, with wireless infrastructures being asked to handle ever more demanding applications, it is also critical that these are designed and implemented in a robust and reliable fashion.
To meet these demands, CEDIA has created a whole suite of IP Networking courses to improve the understanding and skill set of attendees within the industry. The course will enable attendees to implement TCP/IP connected hardware in many of the situations encountered in the residential environment.
Booking these three courses together and the ESC-N Certification exam gets you a reduced package price.
Day one of this course will provide attendees an understanding of IP. With the vast majority of subsystems now having the ability to be converged over an IP network, this is arguably the most important topic to ensure attendees have a solid foundation in.
This course compare wireless to other physical layer types, and explores the behaviours of RF considering data speed, frequency and coverage. Attendees will learn the importance, and opportunities of wireless security making sure customer networks are protected and how to expand a wireless network to cover larger areas.
Attendees who have completed the Residential Networking course are now ideally placed to study this more advanced course which builds upon the knowledge and skills previously gained.
Once the basics of IP Networking are understood, this course will deliver attendees the knowledge and skills required to start building more complex networks.
There are no formal entry requirements to attend this course, however, it is best suited to junior and senior technicians with prior experience in custom installation.
