Steve Carter joined CEDIA as Business Development Manager in May this year and has since been out on the road visiting UK members up and down the country.

Already a well-known figure in the residential custom installation sector, Steve has over twenty years’ experience in product development at JVC. Steve joined CEDIA with the aim of helping the association to build closer relationships with the members and forge new partnerships with key industry representatives throughout the UK.

“I am excited to have been given this great opportunity to work with a great network of customers, but also to support them at the highest level” comments Steve. “My aim is to be the customer facing point of support and to communicate the benefits of becoming a CEDIA accredited company. I hope that my knowledge of the market and technology combined with my approach of meeting the customers face to face and understanding their business and their challenges, will bring many more success stories for the association in the years to come”.

Steve has jumped feet first into his role and has been visiting both trade suppliers and home technology professionals. CEDIA offers its members a range of useful white papers, training courses and event support, but sometimes a face to face discussion is needed to explain how these resources can help a business. This new approach seems to be working, as those members who Steve has visited, have provided some great feedback.

Robert De Rosa, Technical Director at Raid Systems Ltd
“Steve’s visit highlighted that CEDIA is keen to build on the relationships with their members. As an AV company based in Scotland it was refreshing to chat face to face with Steve and give our views on training, exhibitions and the importance of our relationship with CEDIA. We feel that Steve’s positive approach to connecting with CEDIA members / non-members, listening to their views and providing information on CEDIA objectives is important. With the backing of CEDIA and its members we feel that this approach will be beneficial for the future of the industry and its professionals.”

Phil Cotton, Design Director at Finite Solutions
“It’s great to see CEDIA getting out visiting its members at their premises. This engagement is key to understanding the daily challenges CEDIA accredited companies face and discussing what initiatives CEDIA can do to help.”

Mike Beatty, Managing Director at Pulse Marketing
“It was really good to see Steve at Pulse HQ and extremely beneficial. It is great to know that CEDIA is focused on building relationships and helping to develop business. This can only be a good thing for the industry.”
