CEDIA has announced that it will be holding a second training event for the Indian residential custom installation sector from 4th – 8th August at the Sofitel Hotel in Mumbai.

“Our visit to Mumbai last year was a great success” explains Matt Nimmons, CEDIA’s Operations Director in Region 1. “The first event gave us an insight into the growing market in India and showed us that there is a need for regular training events. We return this year with a broader range of training courses, networking events and examinations.  We welcome new and existing members to attend this event and look forward to hearing about how the market is developing in the country.”

Matt Dodd, CEDIA’s Director of Education and Geoff Meads, Technical Trainer will be presenting eight training courses across the four days, including Home Cinema Design Workshop; Residential Networking; Remote Systems Access; Audio, Video and Home Cinema, Standardising Your Business Model, RF Distribution and Control Systems and Maths, Science & Engineering.

CEDIA is offering existing members two training packages at this year’s event. The Gateway Certification includes two days of training covering industry and sub-system fundamentals and a two hour examination. The second package offered by CEDIA is the popular EST2 Certification. This includes a comprehensive four day programme focusing on Maths, Science and Engineering, Residential Networking, Audio, Video and Home Cinema, and RF Distribution and Control Systems. This will be rounded off with a two hour EST2 examination. Members can book onto these Certification packages by using CEDIA Education vouchers. The Gateway Certification requires three vouchers, while the EST2 Certification is five vouchers.

On the evening of Wednesday 6th August, delegates are invited to attend a free networking event, ‘Connect with CEDIA’, which will feature an introduction to CEDIA and an explanation on the benefits of membership. Other special events scheduled over the four-day training event include Manufacturer Product Training for Trade Suppliers and the Home Technology Conference, which is targeted at interior designers and architects.

Attendees can undertake one of CEDIA’s accredited examinations on the last day of the event. These include EST2 Certification, the new Gateway Certification and the popular Residential Networking examination.

Core Brands and Lutron have once again signed up as sponsors for the event. This year, CEDIA welcomes some more sponsors, including Mark Levinson, Lexicon, JBL Synthesis, Revel, Sound & Vision, NEC, Qube Premiere, Image Engineering, Steinway Lyngdorf and Trescent Lifestyles. Media partners for this year’s India Training Event are Stuff (India), What Hi-Fi and Hiddenwires.
