CEDIA has announced that Kris Hogg, Managing Director at South Yorkshire-based integration firm, Konnectiv, is the new Vice Chair of its volunteer Board of Directors.
Kris was elected onto the Board in October 2012 and replaces Matt Dodd as Vice Chair following his move to a new position as CEDIA’s Education Director earlier this year.
“I’m thrilled and quite humbled to take up the position of Vice Chair on the CEDIA Board,” says Kris. “I’m looking forward to being able to deliver on the promise I made when I was elected to the Board, which was to work to really make a difference. I’m keen to help CEDIA continue to develop their excellent consumer-facing activities and further the Certification and qualification processes the organisation is now delivering to the industry.”
In his new role, Kris will provide important support for existing CEDIA Chairman, Gary Lewis along with the rest of the Board to provide vital strategic direction for the custom installation industry throughout Region 1: UK, Europe, Russia and the CIS, Middle East, India, Pakistan and Africa. Based in Sheffield, Konnectiv is an established, award-winning company which designs, installs and programs energy-saving control and entertainment technology for home and business.
The full volunteer CEDIA Board of Directors is as follows: Gary Lewis, UK (Cornflake): Chairman; Kris Hogg, UK (Konnectiv): Vice Chair; Jason Aldous, UK (Aldous Systems); Rufus Greenway, UK (Sound Environment); Elliot Hicks, UK (Complete Home Control); Laura Lazzerini, Italy (Studio LGL); Michael Sherman, France (Henri Intégrateur Domotique); and Krystian Zajac, UK (It’s Done! Technology).
“In the past, I was known as a critic of CEDIA,” concludes Kris. “It came to a point though when I decided I should actually join the Association and try to make a difference. Having joined and subsequently been elected to the Board, I can see that CEDIA is the only body in our industry with a proper remit of education, Certification and qualification and backs it up with some very clever and effective consumer and specifier marketing. We are now seeing end user customers and even developers specifying on their tender specifications that contractors have to be CEDIA certified, which is a real step forward.”
