As part of CEDIA’s extended education programme for 2015, it has introduced ‘Designer School’, a five-day programme which allows students to develop the skills and knowledge that is required to master the design process. The next Designer School training session will take place from 20th – 24th April in St Neots.
Adding to its portfolio of industry leading education courses, CEDIA has developed the Design School programme to explore the critically important process of system design. From initial contact with the client, drawing and processing documents and managing the project itself, to user interface design and third party integration, attendees walk away from this new training programme with an understanding of the key disciplines required to offer a complete and comprehensive system design for any project, large or small.
“The great thing about CEDIA’s Designer School is that it will benefit any installer that walks through the door,” says Simon Buddle, Education Director at CEDIA EMEA. “Whether students are established system designers looking to formalise their existing knowledge, project managers seeking additional structure and perspective, or those who are EST2 certified or hold three years industry experience and are keen to take the first steps into structured integrated systems design, CEDIA’s Designer School will prove valuable for each profession.”
Over four days, attendees will participate in a series of intense sessions, focusing on the core subjects which make up Designer School, before sitting an exam on day five. The main topics are: Customer Relations, Design Documents and Process, Project Management Principles and Sub System Design and Integration – all of which are also one-day courses and can be booked separately depending on the individual student’s needs.
The next dates for this course are 20th – 24th April, and will be held at CEDIA’s headquarters in St Neots, Cambridgeshire. CEDIA members are encouraged to make use of its Education Voucher Scheme to access discounted costs for this course. Six education vouchers will entitle the student to the four full days of training and the finishing exam. Alternatively for members, the price for the full-package is £1,152.00, for non-members, the price is £1,452.00.
