CEDIA is calling custom install companies across the EMEA region (the UK, Europe, Russia and the CIS, the Middle East, Africa, India and Pakistan) to renew their annual membership for 2015 and continue reaping the benefits that membership provides. CEDIA member companies have until 31st January 2015 to renew.
2014 has seen membership grow by a 10% across EMEA, with significant growth in the UK, India, Italy, Poland, Russia and Sweden. At the same time, CEDIA has appointed a number of new staff members, with the likes of Business Development Manager, Steve Carter, Education Director, Simon Buddle and Membership Development Officer, Alex Brownhill joining the team to ensure all aspects of membership is covered.
CEDIA continues to offer a vast range of added-value benefits to members. In 2014, the Association introduced its ECS Home Technology Integrator cards to enable recognition and competency on construction sites. The Education Voucher scheme was launched and allows members to attend any of the 100 training courses run across the EMEA region. Later in the year, CEDIA revealed its brand new website makeover. Since then, over 30 white papers have been added to the site and have been downloaded over 1,200 times. Additional to this, it’s “Find a CEDIA Professional” page has received over 50,000 visitors to its consumer facing website (www.cedia.org). Other highlights of 2014 included nine ‘Connect with CEDIA’ events throughout the UK, Dubai, Mumbai and Poland, and over 150 entrants across 16 countries in this year’s CEDIA Awards.
“It’s been a busy year but CEDIA has continued to develop its membership programme by creating a rich programme of training courses, enhancing its growing library of literature, offering a host of networking events and of course delivering another successful Awards ceremony,” says Wendy Griffiths, Operations Director of CEDIA EMEA. “We are committed to keep growing and educating the smart home industry and expanding our membership offering.”
Monica Sambharya, Co-CEO & Director at Trescent Lifestyles, India.
“In India the home technology industry is still developing. Educating the integrators, architects, interior designers, consultants, vendors and manufacturers on the importance and benefits of the home technology industry is very important at this stage. We would like the entire industry to follow some guidelines and to do things right for the clients, and that is possible when the industry participates with CEDIA in a bigger way. I am very happy to see the success of our efforts we have put in over the past two years.”
Leon Beuyukian, Novus Automation, Dubai.
“I am a true believer in the value of being a CEDIA member, particularly in this region. Since we joined in 2006, we’ve been able to use the CEDIA logo on all communication, allowing us to build trust and project our professionalism to clients. We continually strive for excellence in our design and implementation, and these same professional commitments extend to everyone we supervise or employ.”
